Thanks to You, We Can Effectively Treat Joseph

Democratic Republic of Congo

The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.

Overview:
  • 15,6 million people – 18% of the population suffer from hunger
  • 3,4 million children under 5 years are acutely malnourished
  • 41,8% million children under 5 years are stunted

Globally, hunger is a massive, complex problem. But feeding a child is simple.

Joseph could have become another WHO statistic, labeled as one of the children who dies of hunger every five seconds. No one would have known his name or how infectiously he laughs while playing patty-cake with his mom. That he’s brave and he’s not afraid of the dark, even though he’s only two years old.

Hunger is the simplest illness to cure. Thank you for choosing to help us heal Joseph. Through GoodWorks 24/7, you’ve provided him with dozens of therapeutic meals, allowing us to not only complete his nutritional therapy but also treat other children suffering from hunger. Each week, we care for 80 children in various stages of malnutrition and hunger-related illnesses. We can only do this because of your support. Thank you!
