The hospice in Kabuga, the first and so far only one in Rwanda, is a place full of stories, laughter and tears. Our residents come here sometimes for several years and sometimes only for a few days – but it is thanks to you that they can live their last moments with dignity.
We want you to remember them. We asked them today what their advice is to the younger generation and what is most important to them. It is thanks to you that they can spend this time with a smile.
One day of a patient’s stay in our hospice costs around PLN 50. The hospice does not make any profit, but it has to cover the salaries of the staff (nurses and doctor), pay for electricity and water, food for the patients, care products and medicines. They could not afford even a fraction of such care themselves. By funding a day of care for the suffering and abandoned, we are saying to them: ‘You don’t have to worry about anything anymore’.
