Homelessness remains a major social issue in Poland. Tens of thousands of people living on the streets experience social exclusion. At Good Factory, we believe that every person, regardless of their past, has the inalienable right to dignity and respect.

Overview:
  • there are more than 30,000 homeless people in Poland. 84% of them are men.
  • most of them live in the Mazowieckie, Śląskie and Pomorskie voivodeships
  • every year, more than 100 people in Poland die due to cold-related causes
  • the most common reasons for homelessness are: familial conflict, addiction issues, and eviction

In the winter of 2023, we handed out

251

care packages with sleeping bags, coats and shoes to the homeless

06.12.2024

It’s easy to think that people experiencing homelessness are no longer children. They should take responsibility for their lives. Grow up. But how can someone who never truly had a childhood become fully an adult? “How many of them have ever experienced real Christmas?” we wonder as they share stories of their past.

In the photos, you can see 200 carefully packed gift bags, lovingly prepared by Kasia and Jarek. These gifts will be handed to people in a homelessness crisis during the Christmas Eve dinner we co-organize at Kamienica Theater. Each bag contains warm clothing to help them survive the harshest winter cold. We’ve also added sweets—simple gifts, yet so meaningful for someone who isn’t remembered on birthdays, doesn’t celebrate wedding anniversaries, or has no one to exchange wishes with on Christmas Eve.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to organizing this event—Warsaw’s City Guard, representatives and volunteers from Teatr Kamienica, and Netto employees who filled our packages with sweets. And thank you, dear Good Factory supporters, for every złoty donated to fill the Warm Packs. You are restoring the magic of Christmas for those who desperately need a little joy in their lives.

Urgent help for flood victims

The most vulnerable are the elderly and disabled, living in remote rural areas and small towns, where reaching them is difficult. You’ll be informed about every penny spent to help them. 100% of the funds raised will go directly towards targeted, precise aid tailored to the needs of those affected.
