Has it been a good year? Do we have anything to be proud of? Yes, because you still trust us. We felt needed and tried to show you how important and needed you are!
The cold affecting the homeless in Warsaw’s vacant buildings, the hunger of children in the Congo, the powerlessness of camp residents in Lesbos and Bangladesh, the loneliness of the elderly and ailing in bankrupt Lebanon – we were there. 200 million people around the world are now on the move. They have been driven from their homes by poverty, hunger, war and fear. Through the Good Factory, you have provided them with aid worth 6,116,339 PLN.
Thanks to the work of a wonderful team: Ania, Kasia, Agnieszka, Kinga, Marta, Jarek, Ola, Ania and Malgosia, we did our best to use smart methods to an even greater extent. We were trusted not only by you, but also by large international organisations. They have seen that even though our team is just a small group of people, we know how to help. We are amongst those in need, adapting our methods to deliver aid on time and exactly where it is needed. We are not afraid of big challenges.
Despite the current war in Congo and our hospital being under rebel occupation, we have treated more than 7,000 people with malaria, 3170 of whom are children under the age of five. 14 503 people came to the outpatient clinic for treatment, with a further 3191 requiring hospitalisation. In the maternity ward, 953 women gave birth safely to their babies, and in the nutrition centre we saved more than 550 children from dying of starvation.
In the camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, we have prepared and served over 72,000 meals. We have developed a farm and started producing top-quality olive oil, providing employment opportunities for people in need
In Poland, we helped more than 250 people without a home to stay warm in winter. Just as many sick people in Lebanon received medicines, fuel for heating and food parcels from us every month. Without us, many would not have lived to see this day. Then there is Rwanda, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Togo, Senegal and Bangladesh. We continue our aid in all these places.
In Ukraine, we share our smart approach with other, much larger organisations. As a member of the specially formed humanitarian group ‘Emergency Task Force’, chaired by the UN, OCHA and IOM, we were responsible for coordinating assistance during emergencies. We created the Emergency Response Guidelines when providing cash assistance to victims of rocket attacks, shelling and disasters, such as the destruction of the Novaya Kakhovka dam.
Thank you for working alongside us! In a world where the only certainty is constant change, it is a big challenge for us to maintain aid at the same level. We need you very much, because humanitarian aid is about someone in the world needing you.
Thank you for your trust and every little form of support!
