Democratic Republic of Congo
The second largest country of Africa, full of paradoxes. On one hand, it is rich in natural resources (including cobalt, copper, coltan, crude oil, diamonds, gold); on the other hand, its inhabitants are among the poorest in the world. For decades, the DRC has been suffering from prolonged conflicts that have led to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world.
Overview:
- 15,6 million people – 18% of the population suffer from hunger
- 3,4 million children under 5 years are acutely malnourished
- 41,8% million children under 5 years are stunted
- 63,2% of children below 5 years of age and 41% of women 15-49 years are anemic

We need you VERY much today!
The dollar exchange rate is starting to give us sleepless nights. The cost of buying currency for Congo, which saves children every day, has risen by 8000 PLN in recent months. This is the equivalent of 533 meals for the children, which instead of saving them from hunger are eaten up by the difference in exchange rates.
The situation in this part of Congo is very turbulent. Although some of the internally displaced people in these areas are returning to their homes because they have nowhere else to go, their situation will continue to be desperate. Kidnappings for ransom and killings are the order of the day here. In the best-case scenario, bandits plunder all the crops from the fields, onions, maize and bananas, leaving behind what resembles a storm-swept landscape, robbing hard-working farmers of everything. If we do not help them, nobody will!
Your support, which provided a month of therapy at the nutrition centre in Ntamugenga, resulted in this beautiful smile for our little champion. The characteristic swelling from hunger disease has disappeared from Grace’s face. Apathy has been replaced by a sparkle in her eyes and a desire to play. It is another miracle. Another life that you have saved.
We are proud to form such a close-knit team with you, thanks to which children who could have died of hunger are still alive. We cannot break this chain of good!!! We have dozens of kids like Grace to save every week. This is only possible because of your constant participation!
Let’s stir things up! Let’s raise the money for those 533 meals!
Children do not understand inflation and exchange rate fluctuations any more than they understand not being able to eat at least one meal a day. However, it is only with a meal that we are able to save them!!!
