Gosia Tomaszewska

Angel of Development

She has worked in Burkina Faso and Togo for 16 years. Previously, she was a lay missionary of the Congregation of African Missions, and since October of 2016 she has worked for the Good Factory. Upon the consent of cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo, the ordinary of the diocese of Wagadugu in Burkina Faso, she was appointed a lay missionary in Africa – the first one sent to the continent by our Foundation.

As a lay missionary, she manages the projects of Good Factory in Togo and Burkina Faso.

Gosia has got to know both countries well. She travels the long distance between the locations, for which she is responsible, by a motorbike. In the streets of Lomé and Wagadugu, she is recognized and greeted by people who have received plenty of friendship and support from her in the recent years. Africa is not a safe place now, and political instability is the cause of many threats. Her family and friends worry about Gosia very much, but she can’t imagine leaving Africa and her protégés. A missionary is not a hero, but the word simply comes to mind…
