One day of care for a hospice patient

The St. John Paul II Palliative Care Center is the first and so far the only hospice in Rwanda. Patients come here from all over the country—not only those with terminal illnesses but also those for whom hospital medicine has no more answers. The Sisters do everything they can to provide care to as many patients as possible. There are 20 beds in the center.

The hospice does not generate income, yet it must cover staff salaries (nurses and a doctor), electricity and water bills, food for patients, hygiene supplies, and medication. Our dream is to be able to tell every patient in need: “Someone from the Good Factory has covered your stay—you don’t have to worry about anything anymore.”

When you witness our patients’ journeys up close, you realize that we are truly buying them time. Every day spent here, every moment stolen from death, is a chance for them to regain dignity, experience love, reconcile with their families, and say goodbye to this world with peace and respect. Every person deserves that.

By covering one day of care for a hospice patient, you provide: a bed in a two-person room, three meals, hygiene care, basic medical treatment (such as pain relief), medical and nursing care.

What % of my donation will go towards aid?

Your entire donation, minus a small payment processing fee (PayU/PayPal), will be used for aid and does not serve as a source of income for the Good Factory Foundation. If you’d like to support the Foundation’s statutory goals, click here.
